Ask Kerry a Question

Below are answers to some of the questions that Kerry often gets from kids!

Frequently Asked Questions

Food particles get stuck between your gums and your teeth when you eat. Look at your teeth in the mirror after eating, and you’ll see bits of food stuck there. Brushing is a great way to get a lot of the food pieces out of your teeth. Flossing is the only way to get all the food bits out of the tiny gaps between each pair of teeth.

Brushing teeth should take about two minutes, which can seem like a LONG time! To help time go faster, play your favourite song or music video. We love the Wiggles! Check out this fun song to brush to!

You also can have someone help you or keep you company.

Toothpaste is made of ingredients that clean teeth and make them stronger.

All toothpaste is a bit different. You might like the taste of some toothpaste and not others.

Don’t swallow it!

You can bring your toothpaste to your next appointment.

Everyone has two sets of teeth–one for when we are kids, and one for when we are adults.
When it’s time for the grown-up teeth to come in, the baby teeth get wiggly and then fall out to make room for the grown-up teeth.

Your adult teeth are larger and stronger than your baby teeth.

There were no dentists in caveman times, so we don’t know for sure. But scientists say they probably didn’t get cavities because they didn’t eat grains and sugars back then.
The great white shark has 300 teeth! Imagine brushing and flossing all those teeth!
Unlike bones, teeth can’t fix themselves. That’s why we need fillings and other dental care to keep our smiles as healthy as they can be.
